MNMA Attended the "Astana Mining & Metallurgy" Congress

MNMA's International Partnership Manager, Zorigt Jargalsaikhan, participated in the Astana Mining & Metallurgy Congress and had several important meetings:

IFC: The Astana International Financial Centre plans to visit Mongolia this fall and explore participating in the MinePro event through their organization or the Green Finance Center. They highlighted their commitment to green financing, including supporting clean energy usage in production sectors and the purchase of electric equipment. Additionally, they noted that Kazakhstan's adoption of the KAZRC standard for reporting mining resources has positively impacted investments.

mbassy of Mongolia in Kazakhstan: MNMA and the Embassy of Mongolia in Kazakhstan agreed to enhance cooperation in the mining sector. Discussions covered pressing industry issues and potential collaboration opportunities, with the Embassy expressing its commitment to facilitating experience sharing between Mongolia and Kazakhstan. The slow progress in establishing the Mongolia-Kazakhstan Chamber of Commerce and Industry was also discussed, emphasizing the positive impact such a council could have on investments.

The newly established association, formed in the summer of 2023, has grown to over 40 members. The association focuses on protecting the interests of foreign investors and small-to-medium enterprises. Discussions also covered common issues in local relations faced by both Kazakhstan and Mongolia.

Currently a media partner for the MinePro event, Iteca expressed interest in expanding operations in Mongolia. Company leaders confirmed their participation in MinePro and invited us to the "Central Asian International Mining Exploration & Mining Equipment Exhibition" in Almaty this September.
