R. Renchindulam

The Prime Minister of Mongolia, L. Oyun-Erdene, is set to visit the People’s Republic of China from March 13 to 15. During his visit, he will participate in the finalization and signing of the Gashuunsukhait-Gantsmod Cross-Border Railway Agreement between the two countries.

The signing ceremony will be attended by representatives from both sides. On behalf of China, the Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission will be present, while on the Mongolian side, Minister of Road and Transport B. Delgersaikhan and Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Ts. Tuvaan will sign the agreement.

The draft agreement has already been reviewed by the Standing Committees on Economics and Security & Foreign Policy of the Parliament of Mongolia, which has legally authorized the ministers to proceed with the signing.

Additionally, under this agreement, state-owned companies from Mongolia and China will sign three key contracts:

  • Coal Purchase and Sale Agreement
  • Railway Border Connection Development Agreement
  • Mine Capacity Expansion Agreement

Following the signing, the Parliament of Mongolia is expected to formally ratify the agreement in April. The agreement is based on Resolution No. 58 of the Parliament of Mongolia, which sets the key policy directions for the government in these negotiations, as emphasized by Minister Ts. Tuvaan.
